With the utmost respect Sir Powen, Alzarri Joseph was the only International quality bowler in that lineup!!! It was an incredible and impressive innings by Shai but I wouldn't buy that much into it!!!

With that logic Andre Russell is the best player in the World!!!

Hindsight is 20/20 but Ppl push every type of player especially in this format who is supposedly better, but a cricketer is a cricketer, and a batsman is a batsman.

That’s the benefit of 67 FC matches where you understand a little bit more about the process of batting.

People point to his poor test record but when you subtract his test record that is 29 FC matches and 7 FC Tons.

I do have a soft spot for Hetmyer, but unless both of them have a mindset shift theirs will be a limited ceiling. It doesn’t escape me that today Pakistan wipe off 200 with out loss in a T20 run chase led by two proper FC batsmen.

Hetty does not give out a lot about team plan and strategy. Remember last night after the toss he also said that he was not sure whether he would have batted or bowled when asked.

That inning last evening should be good for a confidence booster.
It is good to see back to back half centuries, especially the last one, where to assured his team victory.

I think selectors are basing their decision of his non-selection from feedback of posters on this very board. Recently Hope had a decent score, he might have even top-scored but posters were claiming that he was batting too slowly over a greater part of the innings, which affect the run rate. This is a no win situation for Hope, for if he had batted erratically like some others and lost his wicket early, there would have been another argument.

A spell in IPL in 2019 by Shai Hope would've turned Shai then into the explosive batting stylist now seen. That was same year Hetmeyer drafted into IPL

In 2019 Hope was in prime white ball form batting 'too slow' for critics. IPL decision makers listened to the critics and missed the opportunity to sign a technician with power hitting potential
