Butcher was the first Black cricketer to represent England in Test cricket when he debuted against West Indies in his native Barbados in 1981. He played three Tests and three One-Day Internationals.

Better dem de appoint the CC.com FL selectors.

Does Butcher know any player outside Bim?

In a team loaded with Bajans to have two out of three selectors from Barbados is definitely not good for West Indies. Apart from Barbados we have six other teams in the west why not someone from either Guyana, Trinidad, Leewards or windwards, since the head coach is already Jamaican?

Butcher is uptodate, he was one of the CCC directors, he was involve in academy when it was in Barbados, a BCA selector, he worked with Sky sports this year on County matches, and recently on the BCA management team.
Every since he returned to Barbados, he was involve in cricket.
A fence sitter as Andrew Mason calls him.

The Nationalities of the selectors is only important in terms of their ability to evaluate players from other territories on the grounds that they may not have seen enough of them playing cricket.
If for example a selector who is from Trinidad but has never seen a player from Jamaica who has scored centuries in Jamaica and Barbados but has only played a couple of games in Trinidad where he did not do well.Such a selector is unlikely to look favorably on such a player.
apart from the scenario which can be negated by having video of that Jamaican player's centuries in Jamaica and Barbados available to the Trini selector.
