Saint Lucia Kings bounced back from opening day defeat to get their tournament underway with a comprehensive 54 run victory over the Barbados Royals in the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
The Kings won the toss and opted to bat first and they filled their boots with a barnstorming innings that saw them post the highest total of the season thus far with a fantastic 201/6.
Healthy contributions from all members of the batting order negated a brilliant spell of bowling from Jason Holder and ensured the Royals would have to produce something very special to win.

Matthew Forde is a quality medium pacer... one of the few pacers in the region that could swing/seam the ball and keep the seam upright. Wish he could gain some more pace... doubt that will happen though.

He bowled at 140k last night. That was impressive

When he played WC in 2020 he seems to be less than 6', but he looks taller now, do you know how tall he is?

the usual debate. If a man can do something with the ball, should he perfect that skill firstly and then strive for the occasional quicker ball as part of his armory or should he just strive for pace and potentially sacrifice his other skills.

Remember folks many on this MB have nothing nice to say about T/20 cricket, some call it "lickit cricket" some even laugh and joke about batsmen who mek runs and bowlers who tek wickets.

The most entertaining format but the least among cricketing mortals.
Because of this format modern day cricket is in a tailspin
