Allan Donald: a voice of reason

wrong is wrong. Shakib hadda understand only one side in this cricketing universe wins at all cost. people begrudgingly admire them, but they certainly aren't loved.

don't like that sort of thing. It was really difficult to watch that unfold - one of Sri Lanka's all-time greats walking off the field without a ball bowled to him being given out for time. That's where I stand on that.

mankading is one thing where the batsman is in essence cheating trying to steal a run, but this time out thing was out of order. almost as bad as the underarm saga

Next time I hope our opponents drop a catch because it’s the ‘forst’ chance

I still maintain out is out.
Unless you saying the umps cheated?

Most, if not all sides, when the situation is desperate, and an unusual chance presents itself, usually take it to effect a dismissal. Mankad, some cheeky stunt from wicket keeper, fake claiming catch, sandpaper gate, underarm. The list goes on. People complain when they're on the receiving end and find some way to justify it when they're on the winning side. No Cricketer is a saint, they all cheat in one form or the other.

Fans have just grown to accept some form of cheating as being ok and others not.

Care to explain how Mankading and/or timing out a batter is cheating?

Ent Courtney Walsh didn’t maniac a man in a virtual World Cup quarterfinal? Ent Viv in a World Series game, when the ball had ricocheted off the batsman to him at the none strikers, allowed the batsman to make his ground. WI didn’t do everything to win even when the pressure was on.
Shakib is a petulant imps. He’s petulant all the time

Am waiting myself to hear Jen tell me how. Law and lawlessness. Humans just take their pick. With all that has gone on in Bangla cricket where Shakib himself is involved over the years and now a below par performance from the team at the WC after being specifically installed as captain for this tournament Shakib need all the laws on his side.

Sri Lanka just had the entire cricket board fired for the team's showing at the world cup an action that has been repulsed by the court. WI just dont get how seriously, almost life threatening these Asians take their cricket.

TanteMerle 2023-11-08 01:37:31

All ya cannot see that this is a ploy to continue to
discredit and disgrace Kemo Paul
for his actions against a Bangy player.

Time out appeal is good cause is on the books.
mankade is cheating although it is on the books.
give me a break bangy cappo.

Same crap when Ozz stumped Bairstow during the ashes.
The same Bairstow attempted the same type of stumping many times before that innings.
I watched the play.
Alex catched the ball and threw it in one motion.
He did not hesitate and waited until Bairstow walked out of his crease.

Even silly Michael Holding went on record and said that
he believes the ball is dead when it hits the keeper gloves
Although he admitted that he did not watch the play
at the time of going on record.
Mikey a little advice; if ya ain't see it do not comment.
You were wrong.

Cricket is played by the rules not the spirit.
Umpires and match referees have to enforce rules of the game
not so-called spirit if the game.

I do not like the decision of Shakib and Bangy, but it is the rule.
Can't fault them.
I guarantee that batsmen will be more cognizant in future.

Apparently the court overruled the government. So I don’t know what’s going on now

Donald had to be seriously hurt by Shakib's action. He disgraced the proud Bangladeshi's people. Shakib's has been a sore spot in Bangladesh for a long time now. Seems like every month he has a buss up. He destroyed the team's focus on the eve of this cup when he went public on Tamim. Shakib along with the misfit board president is a mirror of Bangladeshi political culture.

In my mosque, the Bangladeshi Americans are all shamed by his actions, its not the way you want to win.

His post match interview, he was so bold, that he actually, proudly admitted his nefarious actions as if it was something to be proud off.

clearly you don't intend to be taken seriously.

Indeed. How dare Shakib play by the laws and rules of the game!

Shame on him. lol

Donald is the voice of treason!

"He could have given his personal views at a later time," a BCB official said. "He is part of the team management so when the team takes a decision, speaking about it publicly is a breach of the code of conduct. He could have spoken about it within the team or he could have spoken directly to the player. He could have informed the BCB, but not in public."

really? dude was asked his opinion. papon, member of parliament and BCB dicatator for life regularly dresses down bangladeshi players, the latest being tamim iqbal. ey if bangla doh want a legend and very good coach to help their talentless boy scouts, maybe CWI could hire him

correct.
The BCB is worst than WICBC and their "president" is a laughing stock and a political hack and a misfit.
