60 off 30 is a massive deal for Royals

doosra 2024-10-02 03:00:39

isn't it

with all wickets in hand

they couldn't have asked for better

that's like needing 60 in the last 5 with fewer wickets

SCC1 2024-10-02 03:01:44

At the end of the day, everyone is getting their paycheck. WHy should I worry?

doosra 2024-10-02 03:02:10

it's a steal actually

you take that anyday
everyday

and twice on sunday (tm imusic)

SCC1 2024-10-02 03:03:13

Rovman Powell can't bat spin

sgtdjones 2024-10-02 03:04:24

The target for Barbados Royals will be 60 and the powerplay will be of two overs

Not with Powell batting and Narine throwing at mangoes

doosra 2024-10-02 03:31:18

yea that is like a backend chase but with all your wickets in hand

it's a deal

TRK batted a bit too slowly in the middle?

sgtdjones 2024-10-02 03:31:45

Need 8 from 6b

anthonyp 2024-10-02 03:34:46

Bye bye TKR

doosra 2024-10-02 03:39:19

yea i thought that was a steal

180 off 20 is a different beast from 60 off 5

Kay 2024-10-02 03:42:50

Jordan bowled crap. His best ball was a no ball .....

doosra 2024-10-02 03:43:17

In reply to Kay

he had a great over up to that no ball

a game of margins

Ruff out for TKR

Going fwd I’d like to see the fielding team allowed more men outside the circle, maybe an older ball as well, how about only 5 wickets in hand as well to even the contest.

What say u about them few ideas?

How about letting the fielding side bowl one bowler from both sides for all 5 overs if they want to

Kay 2024-10-02 03:52:55

In reply to Madmax

They used Duckworth calculation which is the default in these situations

I’m quite aware, I’m saying what can be done to even the contest in these reduced over matches . It’s skewed way too far in favor of the team batting second with all 10’wickets in hand and 2 PP overs to face.

The deal was particularly favorable to Royals because od the composition of their line up....a long tail and a couple of top order batters who struggle against spin.

Pollard and co. did contribute to making the target easier. 162 with only 3 down after 19 speaks to deficient batting. I am trying to understand why Pollard and Russell who usually thrive late in the innings came in before Carty. It helped starve Pooran of the strike

to be fair it looks like they had a 180ish target in mind which would have been a challenging score

also to be fair the Royals quicks bowled well in the middle to latter phase, esp young Simmonds and Naveen

Pullfraud’s slow batting was (for me) the main culprit for this loss.
