Who would you have dropped to accommodate Bethel?
he woud have found it hard to break into that side wasnt stokes born in new zealand?
In reply to Onionman0
you speak so much rubbish
how can he break in this top 6? ahead of who?
plus Stokes was born in NZ, so where is the prejudice
In reply to Narper
Narps will you be peeping the game at Kensington oval?
In reply to CricSham

Jamie Smith the wicket keeper.....Pope was the wicket keeper in N.Z. series....batted at 6... While Bethel batted at 3....
After N.Z. series...Bethel 3 fifties.. highest 96....dropped...Smith w.k..... Pope moves up to 3....
Doesn’t matter at all to me

I guess England should drop Stokes instead!

Bethell not dropped - remains in the squad, as do Jamie Overton & Sam Cook. Let's deals in facts .... not fiction.
For the NZ series, Jamie Smith was given time off on paternity leave whilst Jordan Cox (his deputy as wicketkeeper) got injured during the warm up prior to the 1st NZ test. Pope became the wicketkeeper; dropping to 6 as most England 'keepers bat there. Bethell (as the spare batter) was promoted to No. 3 and indeed took his opportunity well. Bethell is an 'all-formats' player for England and may very well make the Winter tour to Australia.
Bethell, being in the IPL was unavailable to play in the sole test v Zimbabwe - Pope was restored to No. 3 and scored 171 (one of 3 English centurions in the match) so he quite rightly remains in that position.
Bethell has not been overlooked and will undoubtedly get his chance going forward

I’m going to cover the game. But I really would like to see/assess Imlach. I also want to see Shamar Joseph in action and Shai Hope. I’m really impressed with Hope but I don’t know if his mindset is test cricket.

Sam Curran. banish
Tom Curran. banish
Jordan. banish
Jofra Archer...injured for rest of career
Bethel...just wait and see....he will play few matches...then banish..
In recent past, apart from Strokes,Morgan....most played ..few failures and discarded.....
Ben Curran realised this truth....returned to Zimbabwe, whom his father Kevin represented....

Are you suggesting the ECB deliberately select some players they believe to be internationally substandard in order to deprive other nations of these substandard players?

Sham...what I can say....you will have many extra days for the beach....and while you may see many many ozzies...don't expect any windians there

In reply to Narper
Definitely not sending you any feedback. So there.!!
I know it’s a tough series, but I’m hoping to see meh Sophia brudda Imlach mek him mark. You know he’s following in the footsteps of the legendary Rohan… making the test team as a wicket keeper/batsman.

I see you finally crawled out of the Dotard's ass to announce to everyone you've made a decision to come up for fresh air.
Congrats.

I share this position
I have no idea why we as West Indians concern ourselves with cricketers and the cricket of other nations
Whether or not they play Bethell has nothing to do with us
