Under the ICC rules and regulations, if a team declines to play a global tournament in the host country, there is a risk of sanctions and losing points.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has rejected the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) request to shift their ICC T20 World Cup 2026 matches from India to Sri Lanka. The BCB has refused to play in India after Mustafizur Rahman was released from the Indian Premier League 2026.

@Chrissy

Why was Rahman released from the IPL again? Was it because he was a Muslim from Bangladesh and is a danger to India? So if Rahman by himself is a danger to India, imagine how much of a danger a whole squad of Rahman's would be...

Then imagine if some Nationalist decided to preemptively defend India from this dangerous band of Rahman's roaming around India under the guise of playing cricket?

@Larr Pullo

not only that - India welcomed the corrupt deposed ex PM.

Bang has a point but India has the power.

@Chrissy

Poms refusing to play in Zim helped to knock WI out of The WC

But this is serious prejudice. Same prejudice that restricts Pakistan is from playing in IPL.

What's the issue?

@Brerzerk

Correct, and the ICC was all about eliminating prejudice from the sport. I guess if the prejudice emanates from the BCCI it's ok...

@Kay

The issue is a selective implementation
