Brazil back to basics?

CricSham Mar 26, 2026, 6:12:08 PM

Saw glimpses of yogo Bonito today with Brazil. Coach Angelotti did say he intends to go back to Brazilian style. Brazil lost to one, but I’ve always maintained. I’d rather see Brazil lose with their own style than win ugly.

Of course, the business entity would not agree.

@CricSham

Agreed, just a glimpse of the yellow and blue and there's nostalgia of watching "magic"

Remember that team from the 80s oh my goodness what skill!! todayI saw Brazil return to the back four like they did in the 50s with the Santos duo. There wouldn’t be a problem I saw today is they don’t have players who can handle a ball in tight spaces except Vini. They need a Neymar, but he’s such a f-en head case.

correct. i want to dump neymar for his gen z antics, but the man has a unique set of skills no other brazilian footballer offers, and tbh, the last time we got dumped, that wasn't his fault. in fact if brazil didn't concede that late goal, neymar's opener versus the croats would have been a very strong contender for goal of the tournament

@Jumpstart

No disagreement there my brother. Messi is the GOAT but nobody, nobody, not even Messi can handle a ball in tight spacies like Neymar. When he’s on a ball and making his moves, it’s football bliss. I am so

angry with him, but it’s a love-hate relationship because I am want to see him one last time.

Messi is not my goat

I hear that Jamaica beat New Caledonia to advance to the World Cup qualifer finals, but - unless I missed it - there's nothing on that here. Instead, there's a 1970s Brazil fanboyism ill-befitting anyone above the age of 12.

velo Mar 28, 2026, 5:54:51 AM

oh damn another one appears

Bro, since I was a child, I supported Brazil they have been my team then and always. Even if Guyana playing Brazil I supporting Brazil. I done

velo Mar 31, 2026, 8:00:24 AM

Neymar if he is fit i would take over any other striker in this squad

unfortunately he has not been fit for a while

vinicious jr wearing a number 10 jersey for brazil considering who have worn that for brazil hurts my eyes.

Italy eliminated again! They have not been in the World Cup since 2014. Karma is beautiful. Remember what Materassi did to Zidane and got him thrown out of the final

What a struggle that must have been in resisting the temptation to jump ship to France or Spain.

Could you define what exactly it is you mean by the 'yogo Bonito' style? Or do you just know it when you see it?

velo Apr 1, 2026, 7:54:42 AM

Yogo bonito what is that ?😂

CricSham Apr 1, 2026, 1:32:42 PM

@KTom

No struggle at all. Especially since Brazil has won more WC championships than England, France, and Spain combined.😃

Unfortunately, I didn’t finish high school so I had to check the meaning as well. Perhaps you’re in the same boat. In that case do your own homework.

@CricSham

Sadly, Germany yet to get their comeuppance. I'll never forget the German who though sent off was laughing how he goaded Rijkaard. In response to his insult Rijkaard spat on him and was also sent off. That screwed up The Dutch's midfield which handed Germany the win.

CricSham Apr 2, 2026, 12:42:52 PM

@Brerzerk

The Germans are a special breed. Do you remember the 1982 World Cup when their goalkeeper Schumacher mugged the French player and left him, sprawled on the field in a coma, knocked out two of his teeth and several broken ribs. Captain Michelle Platini said they all thought the player died when they took him off on the stretcher. The Europeans have always played a physical game and they kicked the living daylight out of the South American teams. That is the reason why Pele said he would never play WC football again after 66. they almost took both his legs out.

I read a piece that Neymar is no longer being considered by Ancelotti. Except for Martinelli they really don’t have a number nine.

Jumpstart Apr 8, 2026, 9:23:57 AM

@CricSham

nope. that's insanity if they're considering that

velo Apr 8, 2026, 3:09:11 PM

@CricSham

Are you a child left behind(your words not mine) 😄 martinelli is not a 9 and will not play that position he and vinicius play the same position.you already have players like joan pedro ,endrick and igor who are natural center forwards.

CricSham Apr 8, 2026, 5:20:37 PM

@Jumpstart

It’s a big lost if Neymar does not play because Ancelotti wants to go back to the Brazil style. Neymar play similarly like Messi he switches into a false 9 if needed. And from all indications, Rafinha may not be fit for the World Cup but even if he is, will it be 100%? This guy has been out 2/3? times this season. With both Neymar and him out, they don’t have that goal scorer. Vini can, but he does so much work defensively and with his tremendous burst of speed you don’t want to put him there.Martinelli is their best option at the moment. I’m worried and it’s not often I worry about Brazil.
