The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) is pleased to announce the Guyana Harpy Eagles squad for the opening round of the 2026 Cricket West Indies Four-Day Championship.

Guyana, the defending champions, will begin their title defence against the Windward Islands Volcanoes from April 12–15 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The team will be led by Tevin Imlach, with Matthew Nandu serving as vice-captain, under the watchful eyes of Head Coach Ryan Hercules.

The squad reads: Tevin Imlach (Captain), Matthew Nandu (Vice Captain), Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Raymond Perez, Kevlon Anderson, Kemol Savory, Keemo Paul, Gudakesh Motie, Veerasammy Permaul, Richie Looknauth, Nial Smith, Isai Thorne and Zeynul Ramsammy.

Reserves: Shamar Joseph, Junior Sinclair, Sylus Tyndall, Jonathan Van Lange, Thaddeus Lovell, Antony Adams, Mavendra Dindyal.

The 2026 tournament will be contested under a revamped format, with teams engaged in a series of bilateral encounters. Guyana will play three matches against the Windward Islands Volcanoes across venues in Antigua.

At the conclusion of the preliminary phase, the top three teams will advance to the playoffs, with the first-place team progressing directly to the final, while the second and third-placed teams contest a semi-final.

Having secured three consecutive titles, the Guyana Harpy Eagles will be aiming to extend their dominance and capture a fourth successive championship.

Not sure who Zeynul Ramsammy is related to at GCB but he's definitely the new Akshaya Persaud in Guyana cricket.

Sarwan needs to ease his ego.. same for Kevin Sinclair. Sort their crap out! Once again he's not in the squad... this time they didn't even give an explanation.

Shamar in the stand-by is also strange... hopefully its a niggle or so keeping him out!

Happy to see K Paul in the squad. He needs to make his way back to West Indies colours and be the fourth seamer

Dem don't have a replacement for Permaul?

Just realize Ali Mohammed is not in the squad either... didn't even make the reserves.

Something definitely strange is going on with de people at GCB.

The chief selector better hold a press conference and start explaining.. hopefully he doesn't end up like the previous ones that were selecting Akshaya ahead of Kevlon.

So, Kevin Sinclair's career might be done or is on hold for the time being, what a bad temper can do. Is AliMohammed injured? The cricket boards in the region should start holding press conferences in order to keep the fans engage.
