I'll say it again. Jamaica's approach to this OD tournament was their downfall. With such a strong batting line up there is no reason Jamaica should be batting first when they win the toss. With strong batting it's better to chase the target as the batting can be adjusted as the situation warrants. Further, the Jamaican bowling attack was suspect from the start so why put your suspect bowling to win the game??? I think the cappo and the coach have to answer for Jamaica's stupid approach and poor showing. It was a stupid strategy from the start and it is one of the primary reasons for Jamaica's shortfall. A suh ni see't!!!!!!!!!!

Good Game. Jamaica would have won if they didn't give up 35 extras. Congrats to Xavier Marshall who might be consider for selection. I think he should be consider for selection with the showing here, in trials and the youth competition. He would have definitely be selected year and half ago with the experimentations but now they might want more cautious especially with his pure talent. PURE TALENT BASED ON PERFORMANCE NOT A FLASH OF THE BAT. If Dwayne Smith makes the team and Xavier doesn't........something wrong. Anyways Congrats to Guyana. Hope that Narsingh Deonarine will put forward his talents in the semis.

This Jamiacan team has an awsome array of talent, far superior to their opponents but they playeed bad cricket from day one aggainst lollipop teams. I cannot say where it went awry but the coach and cappo should resign. Think Ja would do well with a specialist batting coach, maybe Dujon. haynes has done well over the years but such a supremely gifted batting lineup should have done better. Xavier, Sammy and Onry are the 3 most gifted batters in the region apart from Lara. Onry, Wavell and the Eleganyt One are also the 3 best Odi allrounders who have done well on the world stage. So a very gifted side that just did not show up. But no need to cry, simply fire the coach and cappo ahire a specialist batting coach. The beautiful thing about life is that, amidst adversity, there is always something positive and we see the emergence of the Wonderkid Xavier. I suspect he has no equal in the world, in his age group. He seems very complete, evoking memories of Headley, the most complete batter in history( Not that Xavier or any other batter is as good as Headley). Xavier is balanced, compact, has good appetite for scoring, very consistent, agressive and is blessed with flair. Lets wish him the best , lets hope they not rush him into international cricket as this treasure is not to be messed with.

As seen on various threads: The captain Breese looks too much like massa!!! I guess last year the captain Robert Samuels was too black. If you fellas know how ridiculous you beginning to sound.

I know u don't like that Breese is cappo, kool, but its his 1st OD tournament as cappo and yes we did not go further but all in all he did not do a bad job from what I heard listenning to the commentary, The constant however is the coach, and year after year we fail to produce with arguably one of the (b4 this) top 2 teams in the tornament and playing at home to boot ... aside JA fans need to take all the leafs out of Guyana's book, see what [u]real[/u] crowd support can do for a [u]Team[/u].

Xavier definitely one for the future BUT Narsingh will show himself in Semis and Final if he bats 3 or 4 not 5. WHEN? Remember this his second time around in regionals with Guyana team. With the Windies B, he did very well and last year fair BUT he has 2 fifties and really only failed once so far. He is up here with the run scorers but doesn't stand out YET.

. I wouldn`t want Gus to coach this team. Our biggest problem is batting, the side is highly gifted but the batters have shown poor application. A Rohan kanhi or Des haynes will do. Xavier needs guidance from a technically sound and established batter. Breese has to be the worst Ja cappo of all times too. He has been miserable both in one dayers and 4 dayers, should not even be on the team. Instaed of using the other bowlers, he used himself to stone the guyanes bats, conceding about 6 runs an over, more than what Guyana needed. No friend ting, its a disgarce and Breese must go.

Ladies and gentlemen and fellow Jamaicans; lend me your ear. I agree with all those who are calling for the head of Garth Breeze. A captain has to be able to minimize bad bowling during the coarse of a match! Chop off his bowling hand if you have to but 35 free runs is simply unacceptable! The coach is partly to blame because I'm sure it's not the first time the bowlers showed these tendencies. What a disgrace. The batsmen did fairly well but I would have liked to see more from the other specialists, given their talent level and class. As usual Gayle and the Elegant One showed their value with the ball. Now regarding other matters. Please! Please! Please! let's not rush young Mr. Marshall into the forefront. One commenter suggested a Marshall / Devon Smith opening partnership. That would be a total disaster. The opening pair must have balance and neither of these young stars has the maturity to be subservient to the other! They are simply too agressive to open together. When Greenidge emerged, he had the experienced Roy Fredericks to offer guidance. When Haynes joined Greenidge and Greenidge got going early, Desi had enough sense to feed him the bowling and sit back and enjoy the show. I remember only too well the last time we put a pair of youngsters together to open the batting. Do the names Campbell and Williams ring a bell? I rest my case. I will say one thing about the senior side. It will be hard to keep all these Jamaicans, Gayle, Samuels, Hinds, and this youngster Marshall, off the side! Remember Marlon and Wavell only lost their place due to injury and, of all the aforementioned, Hinds is the oldest at age 26. I'm looking forward to young Marshall joinig them eventually. I hope they bring him along slowly. We don't need to rush him like we did Leon Garrick. Besides, I thing the WICB have learned their lesson when it comes to putting too many inexperienced players into the fold, no matter what the talent level. Imagine! Marlon, Wavell, Gayle, Marshall and Jermaine Lawson, when he returns! That's half the side! While I'm disappointed about our loss to Guyana, I'm excited about our potential regarding the senior team. As usual, I'm sure the Bajans will have something to say about this. Now if it were 5 of them on the senior side, they feel it's an entitlement. But 5 yardies! Oh no, that's blasphemy!! Here's to insularity.
