I don't know about you, but I think that Ramnaresh Sarwan is a young, gifted cricketer with a great future. For this reason, I do not see his omission from the second Test against Pakistan as a bleak blot on his career.
Rather, I think if he handles it positively, it can be a pivotal point, the stage at which he begins to reflect carefully on his role and his ability and applies himself more diligently to developing his game.

HEADLINE: Defining Sarwan's Moment
In reply to CaribbeanCricket.com Once again you are right on track Vanessa, good job.
Wesley
Vanessa darling, you are one hell of a sweet lady !! ![]()
This is what you call a responsible commentary.
Now will those nincompoops read this carefully then go back and read that drivel Daniel Singh vomitted on the front page !!
In reply to DLO At the end of the day, it is of no consequence what Lara's motives are. He might genuinely be trying to spare Sarwan the lost time spent on correcting mistakes because he too walked that road.
One of the things I have learnt in life is to always base your positions on truth and stick to certain principles. One should never base one's positions on that of any individual. When you agree with an individual 100% of the time it means that only 1 person is thinking.
Can you tell me when Lara "walked that road" and when you commented on it?????
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
In reply to Dukes
Listen my friend, haven't those life lessons also taught you not to throw stones from your glass house ??
Just a lil secret ... I have not agreed with everything that Lara has said or done !!
Now promise not to tell anyone arite.
Phew. ![]()
Sarwan one of the youngest capped player in West Indies? This is news to me. Sarwan was a month short of his 20th birthday.
Sobers was not yet 18; Jerome was not yet 19. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
In reply to Chrissy
Doesn't that make him one of the youngest....?

Do not mess with Admin editing skills. ;)
I am sure he could list all the teenagers who have played cricket for the WI. It is a small group.
That's what yuh get when yuh try browbeat the public;now all yuh underwear is showing
Simple as that
This is the way someone without an agenda will see it. However, whenever something is done to one of their favorites, there are those on this MB who will chalk it up to either insular or racial motives. Her last comments were appropriate (paraphrasing): Sarwan, the ball is now in your court. Make yuh move!

Isn't it funny how people who were agreeable with the tripe Daniel Singh wrote are avoiding this thread ??
It takes divisiveness to get their attention !!
In reply to DLO
What was frustrating about these Daniel Singh "apologists" was their willingness to acknowledge (a) that his performances were mediocre, (b) that a player performing poorly should be dropped, but (c) that player CANNOT be Sarwan. It boggles the mind.
Excellent article and a breath of fresh air, a welcome change from the tidal wave of convuluted, unsubstantiated rubbish I've read from some on this forum recently
In reply to hewesleyb For a very long time reports of arrogance, and devotion to superstar status have surrounded Sarwan, to the extent that he has been deemed to have adopted an imperial air.
This is truly remarkable.I am sure that Lara must have been horrified to see Sarwan behaving like this.
What a remarkable irony!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
In reply to Dukes
Not really, Ronnie is yet to reach Superstar status despite your efforts to convince the world that he has !! ![]()
In reply to Dukes
He should behave like a superstar only when he is. A highest score of 139 vs non-minnow teams is nothing to brag about!
The haters gotta deal wid Sarwan for years to come including him as de cappo.
