HEADLINE: Bravo Out of ODIs
In reply to CaribbeanCricket.com
Wow - first of all I hope his relative pulls through.
When I check the stats of WI players against Pakistan in ODIs tings looks real dim here.
In reply to CaribbeanCricket.com
PERSONS?
One of Narsingh, Darren Sammy or Richard Kelly should get a shot here
Ganga should stay
Hope Bravo's family get better soon. Colly for Bravo seems on odd change.
He Got Dropped ???
My reaction is the same as TriniD!!!
PERSONS CLOSE TO HIM does not make much sense.
I remember a 20 year old flying home from a tour for the funeral of his girlfriend and returning 5 days later to play in a test match.
In reply to Dukes
Yes Sars girlfriend died while he was on tour in England.
maan peeps en warn bravo not to tek advice from Morton...HUH!!!
In reply to Dukes
Why not -suppose there was an accident with mother, father brother sister, whoever or what if baby and mum have measles, chicken pox, mumps, gastro whatever? What if both grandparents are seriously ill?
Very possible.
With the absences of Sarwan & Bravo, the WI ODI side is considerably weakened.
Sarwan in particular was a key batsman.
Persons close to him could be anyone but, hope all is well for the young man's family etc.I am assuming it's family. However, the illiterate liason office should give a better explanation for missing the tour.
Colly get called up - and the tail (was that tale?) lengthens
Chrissy
If you were the Press Liason Officer would you put out a press release that Bravo is going to miss 5 ODI's less than 100 days before the World Cup because "Persons close to him are unwell"???
A straight yes or no answer is all that is required.
In reply to Dukes
No.
The WI team management are very cautious when it comes to releasing medical information on team members, never mind their family.
I really don't see any reason for them to be any more specific than they were in this instance. We do not need to know which of his family is/are unwell (I doubt it is more than one), nor the exact nature of their problem.
shit...
we will miss bravo's death bowling...and his batting as well....
we will miss the best ODI batsman as well...(sars)
shit shit shit...
dwayne smith, lendl simmons.....they're gonna be the men who are key!!
In reply to Dukes and Chrissy
If they had simply said "for personal reasons," you would hear the crowd on this MB say that he ran home because his girl giving him horn and he's weak, etc.
In this instance, they handled it very well and I'm sure Bravo approved what was released.

I hope he pulls through and it's not too serious.
Sarwan and Bravo out, very dismal outlook for this ODI.
In reply to Admin
Can't argue with dat but it won't stop the crowd on the MB bro but Imran could have said to to illness in his family.
In reply to Chrissy
Well, it's plural and it's serious enough for a man to head home. And truthfulness always wins the day, no argument here with how it was done.

great chance for Dwayne smith and Marlon samules tho show they belong here.. especially after the absence of Sarwwan and Bravo. I have seen Samules 108 agaisnt India...
IT is one of the greatest ODI innigns i ever saw.. hard to belive this fella is still struggling..
In reply to Admin
Note my response to Dukes earlier in the thread. I fully support players returning home for family crises.
In reply to Dukes
Remember who you are dealing with. What else do you expect?
It is the "cannot do anything right" crowd.
In reply to Narper Dont get your hope up for Narsingh at all.
I am very sorry to hear that his relatives are unwell. I hope it is not serious and that they recover quickly
I guess Collymore being the replacement is more economics than cricket reasoning
In reply to Chrissy
The "persons" part is les than accurate.
who gives a fuck if it's person or persons?!?!?!
allyuh need something to occupy your minds.
Which part of privacy's alyuh skunt doan understand
In reply to Narper
when sarwan was dropped is not u run come carrying news about division in the team?
Darren Sammy time 2 shine, come on Board a wha' wrong with uno?
In reply to faada
when sarwan was dropped is not u run come carrying news about division in the team?
How de fcyuk is this the same thing?
Sarwan was dropped
Was there any press release asking people to respect a player's privacy for his family illness(es)
Are you saying Bravo has been dropped?
In reply to Narper
Nah you skunt... you should respect the tour selectors decision to drop Ronnie !!
In reply to Narper Ah think faada was in a hury and he na read properly
In reply to redbaron Is there very serious illness like cancer involved? or just a matter of recovery time needed?
It must be said this is a blessing in disguise.
Also an opportunity for Lendl Simmons to show what he's about.
Good luck kiddo !!
In reply to anandgb
Let's respect his privacy for the time being. It's sufficient for us to know that whatever it is, it's serious enough to warrant the course of action that has been agreed to by the WICBandits.
I'm sure that when the time is right we will know more.
I wish Bravo and family well.
Wesley
This seem like an oppertunity for a guy like Sammy, Collymore is not a good choice. Then again it comes down to money.
Has it being confirmed who replaces Sarwan in the ODI squad, if no one then Simmons gets an auto pick, good for the kid.
Wesley
In reply to Kurt
Sarwan will be missed perhaps .....but the `RUNS-TRUCH`...I dont think so....easily replaced by Smith.
In reply to redbaron
nope.."persons" is correct...it's formal.
In reply to Admin Remember how serious it was for Morton to return home? I hope its not the same stunt.
We wont miss him. The bugger can't bat bowl or catch.
He gets too many chances at test cricket for such a non-performer.
He must know something about Lara we don't.
In reply to Friskyddm
Was that really necessary? Do you feel more of a person now? ![]()
his bowling will not b missed but his fielding and batting to an extent will surely b missed.
and.......Dwayne...the time has come.prove them wrong.
In reply to prasad
For such a horribly performing team, West Indians really set high (maybe unreachable) standards for SOME individuals - Pollock, and Flintoff all have their days as allrounders - Maybe one day, Bravo will emulate King Sobers, but until then he is OK, even if he cannot play spin now-Whether he learns or not should be our concern --
DSammy should be brought in to fill BraBits spot.
DARREN SAMMY... DARREN SAMMY ... DAAARREN SAMMY...DAARRENN SAAAAAMMMMMMYYYYYYY : ![]()
it`s one person
and this person fell into a sudden and unexpected coma
