HEADLINE: Samuels: I Love Batting Early

Of late West Indies captain Brian Lara has been repeating ad-nauseam that for the West Indies to succeed in its World Cup bid, his team needs to find more match winners among the ranks. He has been simultaneously cautioning against over reliance on himself and the other big names -- Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul.
Lara's message has been getting through to his teammates but none more so than Marlon Samuels. In the last three games that the West Indies won, Samuels scored 100* (v Pakistan), 98 (v India) and 100 against Kenya on Monday at the Trelawny Multi Purpose Stadium.

WTF is wrong wid Lara? The Kiwis have any matchwinners? In ODI cricket, the focus is on teamwork. All team members have to compete at a high level together to win.
This certainly suggests that the inner brain trust is more concerned with individual performaces than harnessing team efforts!!

Is that JamMac on this MB? Just asking...
If Samuels continues this form, and Sarwan delivers the kind of late-innings surge he has shown himself to be highly capable of, WI would do consistently well in the batting department without having to rely
excessively on the success of Gayle-Shiv opening partnership...

If you did not go to KC or Munro then you cannot talk - only those two in the CARIBBEAN can say they rank ahead of the good ole CC and considering that KC engages in certain trades I could argue against them. Anyway, we are talking about academics, sports and contribution to the society all in one - red and gold!!!.

Since you chose the name HumbleCalf, I will treat you with respect. Perhaps you are unaware of what The College is all about, hence your erroneous reference to "KC engages incertain trades". The KC Spirit is what confounds everyone, because we are able to overcome adversity and enormous pressures at will. In my days at The College, there were many occasions when our opponents considered themselves superior, only to recoil in fear at the sight of the Purple & White and end up losing. Marlon Samuels has clearly demonstrated such Spirit and will continue to do well because he has not forgotten his teachings at the College!
Fortis Cadere Cedere Non Potest!!
Walk good HumbleCalf.

Come Come my not so learned friend, the Maroon and Gold Clad boys from Heroes Circle yes Wolmers would be first on that list followed by Munro and KC pick your choice...sorry but CC I assume Cornwall College and not Clarendon college is somewhere down the line. Do your homework son.
