interview by MICHELLE McDONALD

Daniel Vettori's New Zealand team have marched through the 2007 Cricket World Cup with few obstacles.

Currently ranked third in the LG ODI team rankings, they have lived up to expectations. Two days before what has been dubbed 'the final before the final' with Australia as their opponents, the left arm bespectacled spinner talked with CaribbeanCricket.com about his World Cup experience. In reply to CaribbeanCricket.com Michelle, this must have been downright orgasmic for you, I remember you swooning over Vettori and his glasses on this same MB when WI was in NZ, I note you made a point of that commonality in the interview. What was the face-to-face like; did you get goose bumps or stutter?

The man Vettori is a classic example why spinners should be given a long run especially our spinners.

Come on Yammie, do the right thing and upload a video of this interview to youtube. 8)

What did it mean to have a healthy Shane Bond available?

Oh, it makes a huge difference. He's obviously a marquis player...

Should be marquee.

It's all about attack these days and that started in the One Day form of the game, where you see the scores are a lot higher now, but it's transitioned through the Test game where 3 to 4 runs an over is common place, and Test matches don't last as long because the game has been sped up so much.

What an appalling sentence. Transitioned through? Commonplace is one word.

The thing with playing Sri Lanka is that we've had some pretty good battles over the last year or two years where the ledge is pretty even.

Ledger.

Easy does it. Can't a gal conduct an interview without you all reading into the innuendo?

If ganga_fan is saying not to mess with Gayle's and Samuel's and Slow Mo's places in the West Indies team, then I agree.

Vettori is a joy to watch, though. And I'd much rather the Kiwis win this World Cup than Australia.
