India Beware: Lara Back for Caribbean Visit

Brian Lara is hoping to return to action from a fractured elbow in time for India's tour of the Caribbean beginning in March.

The West Indies batsman sustained the injury to his left arm against Sri Lanka last month but has now had a plaster cast removed.

Lara, who averaged 114.60 in the three-Test series against Sri Lanka, said: "I am about to get into physical therapy but cannot play any cricket now.

"Hopefully, I will be at full speed when the Indians arrive for their tour. I am very happy that I am on my way to recovery.

"The faster I can get back on the field of play, the better it will be for all concerned.

"It is a delicate and important part of my cricket but I do not plan to rush things. I plan to wait until I am 100 per cent."

The Indians will play five Tests and seven one-day internationals in the Caribbean, with the first Test in Guyana starting on March 22.
