PwC Ratings: Lara Still Top Test Batsman

West Indies batting star Brian Lara has retained his position as the world's top Test batsman in the latest rankings released by PricewaterhouseCooper.

Lara (887 points), who missed the recent Sharjah tour through injury, was ranked ahead of India's Sachin Tendulkar (880 points).

Australian Matthew Hayden (846), Zimbabwe's Andy Flower (814) and Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardene (812) round out the top five.

The one-day international rankings, however, was topped by Tendulkar, who held off a tough challenge from Michael Bevan. Tendulkar got 810 points while the Aussie got 803. Among ODI batsmen, Lara was ranked #10 with 713 points.

The left-handed Lara, who holds batting records in first class and Test competition, is the only West Indian among the batting or bowling rankings.
