Nagamootoo '50-50' for Second Test

A gimpy hamstring could rule West Indies leg-spinner Mahendra Nagamootoo of the second Test match which begins in Trinidad and Tobago on Friday.

Team doctor Terry Ali has described Nagamootoo's chances of playing as "50-50", creating a dilemma for Carl Hooper and the selectors when the name the final XI on Thursday night. Trinidadian leg-spinner Dinanath Ramnarine has been put on standby.

Nagamootoo, who shattered the regional bowling record in the Busta Cup championships this year, strained the hamstring chasing a ball during the drawn first Test in Guyana. Depending on how he responds to last-minute tests, he could find himself out of the second Test.

With a fragile lower order, Carl Hooper might even opt for Barbadian all-rounder in the event Nagamootoo is ruled unfit.
