Kensington Oval Statistical Highlights

Kensington Oval has always been a happy hunting ground for the West Indies, particularly in the Test arena. In fact, the Caribbean side has so dominated Test matches at Bridgetown, Barbados, the venue has become the 'Mecca' of cricket in the region.

England made the highest one-day total here, 293 for 5 in 1997-98. In the same match, Nick Knight made the highest individual score of 122 on this ground. Desmond Haynes's unbeaten 117 in 1988-89 is the highest score in the WI-India match. Haynes topped the run aggregate (345) and hundreds (2) here than anyone else. The next best are from Brian Lara (290) and Carl Hooper (254).

Only once has a bowler taken four wickets in a match. Jacques Kallis has a figure of 4 for 22 for South Africa last year. Viv Richards, who took 3 for 47 in 1988-89 has the best figure for the WI-Ind match.

In India's last ODI match on this ground, they were put in to bat and made only 199 runs. The West Indian openers Stuart Williams and Shivnarine Chanderpaul overhauled the target with 32 balls to spare. Chanderpaul ended up unbeaten on 109, winning the Man-of-the-Match award.
