Windies Crash and Burn at Kensington

Indian Left-hander Dinesh Mongia stroked a quickfire 74 as India humbled the West Indies by seven wicket in the third ODI match at Kensington Oval, Barbados on Wednesday. India now leads the series 1-0 after the first two games were washed out in Jamaica.

Mongia led the way as India easily reached the 187-run target with more than five overs to spare for the loss of three wickets. His knock included nine fours and spanned 113 balls. He was supported by Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly (41) and master batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who was unbeaten on 34.

The win was set up earlier when the West Indies crashed from relative comfort at 140 for four to be all out for 186. Captain Carl Hooper smacked 76 not out but there was no support from the lower order and the team crumbled in the end in their allotted 49 overs. Fellow Guyansese Ronnie Sarwan chipped in with 44.

Ajit Agarkar and Tinu Yohannan took three wickets each for India.
