Colin Croft Lands Job with UWI

Controversial cricket commentator Colin Croft has landed a gig with the University of the West Indies (UWI) to run the operations the school's sports centre in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Guyana-born Croft, who was recently accused of domestic violence, will run the operations of UWI's sports center at the St Augustine campus, which offers academic degrees in sports management and education administration.

According to reports out of Trinidad, Croft will start in August as facility manager of the Sports and Physical Education Centre.

Croft, who appeared in 27 Tests for the West Indies between 1976 and 1982, is among the most vocal (and critical) of colour commentators in the Caribbean. His work for such outlets as CricInfo and BBC Sports often take a biting and cynical look at the game in the region.

He has not appeared on the CMC radio commentary panel since the domestic abuse allegations surfaced during the Trinidad leg of the just-concluded Test series.
