Shillingford Quits as WICB CEO

Gregory Shillingford?s tenure as chief executive officer of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is ending after less than two years in the job.

Shillingford, who took over - from Stephen Camacho - as CEO of the WICB in October 2000, is reported to have arrived at a ?mutually agreed position? to end his stint with the regional body.

The WICB?s head of marketing Roger Brathwaite is expected to handle the CEO duties until Shillingford?s replacement is appointed.

Shillingford was entangled in last year?s contentious issue that led to the resignation of WICB president Pat Rousseau and his deputy Clarvis Joseph and there were questions over his retention.

The three had presided over a decision to sack West Indies team manager Ricky Skerritt, but that verdict was overturned at a June 2 board meeting last year in Barbados - a reversal Rousseau and Joseph deemed untenable for them.

The WICB will also be seeking a replacement for Senior Marketing Manager Merchandise, Rights and Licensing, Laurie-Ann Holding, who has also resigned.
