Hooper Speaks of 'Indiscipline, Immaturity'

For the second time this week, the words "indiscipline" and "immaturity" have become part of the lexicon of the West Indies tour management in India. On the heels of Viv Richards' insistence that "drastic measures" would be taken to weed out the "a few negative factors," Hooper has joined the criticism of his teammates.

"The team, though full of promises, has yet to justify its potential due to immaturity and indiscipline. (But) you cannot run us down. We have the capacity to bounce back," Hooper said after a net session at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Pune.

Despite losing the first two Tests and the series against India, Hooper expressed confidence his team would fight back in the Kolkata Test beginning October 30 to salvage some pride and deny India a 3-0 sweep of the series.

The West Indies are scheduled to play a three-day match against the Ranji Trophy champions Indian Railways beginning in Pune on Thursday.
