No Hooper For Bangladesh

Carl Hooper's injured knee has forced the nearly 36 year old West Indies skipper to pull out of the upcoming Bangladesh leg of the tour. Hooper will undergo corrective surgery for his knee injury in Australia after the one day series with India.

It is not known whether the Guyana captain will also miss the upcoming first class season in the Caribbean but with the World Cup only weeks after his surgery it is likely that he may sit that out to make sure he is fully fit for the World Cup which is now only 12 weeks away.

"Carl has now decided to undergo the required corrective surgery at the end of November so that he will be fully recovered by the start of our pre-World Cup camp in January" said team manager Ricky Skerrit.

No replacement has yet been named, but it is expected that wicketkeeper Ridley Jacobs will take over as he did in the last ODI when Hooper was rested due to concerns over the injury. The WICB selectors plan to name the captain along with the touring squad for Bangladesh next week.
