Devon Smith in WC Training Shortlist

Opening batsmen Devon Smith and Daren Ganga have been invited to the World Cup training camp in Antigua, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced Tuesday.

Smith and Ganga will be joined by back-up wicketkeeper Keith Hibbert, all-rounder Ryan Hinds and pacer Daren Powell at the preparatory camp which starts on January 12.

The five back-ups will join the official 15-man squad which was announced last weekend.

"Effectively, these five players have been short-listed by the Selection Committee in case any member of the original 15 is unable to participate in the 2003 World Cup," WICB COO Michael Hall explained.
