Windies 'B' Team Coach, Manager Named

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has appointed Vincentian Alfred Bynoe and Barbadian Roddy Estwick as manager and coach of its developmental 'B' team for this year's first class tournament.

Bynoe, a former St Vincent all-rounder, has held the post for the past two years. He is a qualified coach, holding the WICB's advanced certificate, the board said.

Bynoe was also manager of the Young West Indies in two youth World Cup tournaments -- in South Africa in 1998 and Sri Lanka in 2000.

Roddy Estwick, who represented Barbados as a fast bowler in the mid-1980s, will handle the coaching duties. He was the coach of the victorious Under-19 Barbados team in last year's three-day youth championships in Jamaica.

The Developmental 'B' team will be made up of 'unprotected' Under-23 players that were not chosen for their territorial teams and will be chosen by the youth selection panel headed by chairman Clyde Butts.

The team will be chosen on Friday from a list that includes hotshot prospects Narsingh Deonarine, Reon Thomas, Lorenzo Ingram, Andrew Richardson, Martin Nurse, Ryan Austin.
