Ganga Ton Puts Scare into Guyana

Trinidad and Tobago captain Daren Ganga hit a classy unbeaten 111 to put the pressure on Guyana on the final day of their first round Carib Beer Cup match but after an uncertain post-Tea session, Guyana held on for a draw.

Ganga's ton propelled Trinidad and Tobago to 332 for five at lunch when the declaration came, setting Guyana a victory target of 298 to win. When the match ended, Guyana was 192 for six (at one stage, it was 126 for five with 13 overs plus the mandatory 15 remaining).

Guyana, by virtue of winning first innings points, took six points from the first round while Trinidad and Tobago picked up three points.

Jamaica/Leewards Draw

The first round game between Jamaica and the Leewards petered out into a unexciting draw in Anguilla with Jamaica coming out with first innings points.

At the close of the fourth and final day, Leeward Islands reached 167 for three, batting a second time. Earlier, Jamaica ended their first innings on 444.
