My Fifth Round All-Stars

The fifth round of the Carib Beer Cup saw five centuries scored, four more than the sole century scored in the previous round. Centuries were registered this time around by Devon Smith, Alex Adams, Philo Wallace, Sherwin Campbell and Aneil Kanhai. It's the second century for Kanhai, who scored a double century before in Round Two. He is also the only batsman to have scored more than one century so far.

Devon Smith now has the distinction of being the only batsman to appear three times thus far on my all-star teams. Dwayne Bravo is also appearing for his third time but his selections have been mostly on account of his bowling. He has, however, earned his place in a previous round on the reckoning of his batting.

Young wicket-keeper, Carlton Baugh Jr continues to impress, scoring his series-leading fifth half-century in only his eighth inning. He is appearing on my all-star team for the second time, the only wicket-keeper to have repeated thus far even though he has appeared in only four matches, relative to 5 matches for the other wicket-keepers from the other teams.

Brenton Parchment and Tino Best are all making their second appearances. To round off the list, Alex Adams, Philo Wallace, Sherwin Campbell, Kerry Jeremy and Jason Bennett are each making their first selection for the series.

The reserves consist of Sylvester Joseph, Stuart Williams, Junior Murray, Jason Bennett and Gareth Breese.

My choice for Player of the round is Alex Adams who scored his maiden first class century, an unbeaten 103, to secure an outright victory for his Leeward Islands team.
