Five-wicket Hauls for Jeremy, Best

On-the-cusp pacers Kerry Jeremy (Leewards) and Tino Best (Barbados) returned five-wicket hauls on a day when the bowlers enjoyed themselves in the seventh round of the Carib Beer Cup competition.

Jeremy's 5-55 was the key in helping the Leewards against Trinidad & Tobago while Best's 5-40 against Windies 'B' put Barbados in a very strong position after the first day. Brian Lara, Floyd Reifer, Sherwin Campbell and Dwayne Bravo all got half-centuries...

Barbados v Windies 'B'
R Replying to the West Indies B first innings score of 115, Barbados reached 155 for two with Sherwyn Campbell and Floyd Reifer already well entrenched.

Guyana v Windwards
Winning the toss and batting first, Guyana paced itself to 202 for six against the Windward Islands, thanks to a half-century from opener Azeemul Haniff and an unbeaten 32 from Test batsman Shiv Chanderpaul.

Score: Guyana 202-6 (Azeemul Haniff 54, Krishna Arjune 41, Shivnarine Chanderpaul 32 not out; Fernix Thomas 2-34).

Trinidad & Tobago v Leewards
Replying to Trinidad and Tobago's first innings score of 303, the Leewards struggled to 89 for four as Marlon Black's quick two wickets put the cat among the pigeons.

Batting first, Jamaica struggled badly on a bowler-friendly track and were skittled out for 130. In reply, India 'A' also found the going tough, reaching 85 for six at stumps.
