WICB Changes Carib Finals Date, Again

For the second time in as many weeks, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has rescheduled the final of the 2003 Carib Beer competition.

The board said the match will now start on Thursday, April 3, one day earlier than previously (re)scheduled.

The board, which has faced intense criticisms for not having a manager, coach or team captain in place just weeks before the first Test, said the latest reschedule would give the players involved in the Carib Beer final "an extra day" to recover.

The match will now run from April 3 and end on April 6, just four days before the first Test in Georgetown, Guyana. "This will afford us an extra day to get players involved in the final, but who are picked for the West Indies team to Georgetown ahead of the opening Test against Australia, and allows them more time to recover too,? said WICB chief operations officer Michael Hall.

The semi-finals will pit Trinidad against Barbados at Kensington Oval and Jamaica against Guyana at Albion.
