Freestyle Sponsors Dominica Cricket

Dominican multimedia company Freestyle Inc. has inked a deal with the Dominica Cricket Association (DCA) to sponsor the local intermediate one day league as well as to serve as the marketing agency for the Association.

At a press conference to announce the deal, newly elected DCA president Emmanuel Nanthan unveiled the association's new logo and tagline "A Path to Success" with the words that cricket was now to be projected as a serious career alternative and that there was to be a serious effort to market and develop young professionals capable of playing at the senior level as well as to structure Dominican cricket accordingly.

FreeStyle was represented by directors Kenny Green and Geoffrey Guye as well as umpire Billy Doctrove who is serving as a consultant for the relationship between the agency and the association in developing new program ideas for the development of youth cricket.

The sponsorship program, a combination of services and cash, is a multi-year valued in the range of EC$30,000 in the first year and will include a number of marketing initiatives across the community.

In his speech, Kenny Green highlighted a number of young fringe players who needed support and exposure to develop to WI representative level and called on the attending media to play its part in giving cricket and those who excelled in the sport, due coverage.

The FreeStyle Cricket League is due to commence in mid April.
