Ganga Hurt; Imran Jan in Carib XI
Trinidad & Tobago captain Daren Ganga has been forced to withdraw from the Carib Beer XI against the visiting Australians because of a leg injury.
Ganga, who was named captain of the representative XI, sustained the injury in the Carib Beer semi-final match between T&T and Barbados and has been ordered to rest for 10 days.
Imran Jan, the Trinidad & Tobago opener who enjoyed a solid first class season this year, will take Ganga's place. In 8 matches this year, Jan scored 563 runs with five half-centuries (average 35.18).
The WICB said Leewards batsman Sylvester Joseph would lead the side in Ganga's absence.
Clyde Butts has been appointed manager/coach.
