Collymore Signs With Warwickshire

West Indies fast bowler Corey Collymore has signed on to play for Warwickshire for the rest of the English county season, the BBC reported on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Barbadian will replace Kenyan spinner Collins Obuya, who is returning home after suffering a torn knee cartilage. Collymore has taken 49 wickets in 42 one-day appearances, but has only made three Test appearances.

Collymore, who was pegged as an ODI specialist for much of his injury-riddled career, returned to the Test scene against Sri Lanka at home and marked his name by taking 14 wickets in the two Tests. During that series, Collymore grabbed career best figures of 7-57 in Jamaica.

He is scheduled to arrive in England in time for Thursday's Championship game against Leicestershire.

Collymore joins fellow Barbadian Vasbert Drakes, pacer Nixon McLean and former West Indies captain Carl Hooper as West Indians playing English Country cricket.
