Antigua Stuns B'dos; J'ca Cruise

Led by a fine all-round effort by off-spinner Anthony Lake, Antigua and Barbuda completed a stunning three-wicket upset win over defending Red Stripe Bowl champions Barbados at the Antigua Recreation Ground on Sunday.

Batting first, Barbados struggled to 184 all out from 48.4 overs with Lake (2-31), Curtis Robers (2-19), Earl Waldron (2-29) and Kerry Jeremy (2-43) doing the damage. In reply, the home side reached 186 for seven in the 48th over to pull off the upset.

Antigua and Guyana share the lead in their group with eight points each under the new system which awards four points for a win.

At the Alpart Sports Club, Jamaica cruised to a seven-wicket win over the Windward Islands with West Indies opener Chris Gayle slamming an unbeaten 72.

Chasing a target of 147 for victory, Jamaica reached 151 for three off just 27.2 overs.
