U-19s Trounce UWI; Leewards Win

Half-centuries from captain Dinesh Ramdin and Assad Fudadin spearheaded the Young West Indies (Under-19) to a convincing seven-wicket win over an overmatched University of the West Indies (UWI) side at the Antigua Recreation Ground.

The Trinidadian Ramdin hit eleven fours in an unbeaten 77 as the Under-19s reached the target of 166 for three from just 33.4 overs. Fudadin's undefeated 53 lent support as the Young West Indies side bounced back from a miserable showing against Antigua.

FINAL SCORES: UWI 165 all out from 42 overs (Jason Haynes 41, Maurice Clarke 32, Keith Hibbert 28; Ravi Rampaul 3-17, Jonathan Augustus 2-3). Young West Indies 166 for three off 33.4 overs. (Dinesh Ramdin 77 not out, Assad Fudadin 53 not out.

At Chedwin Park in Jamaica, the Rest of Leewards romped to an easy five-wicket win over the Windward Islands with all-rounder Carl Tuckett leading the way.

Tucket stroked an unbeaten 71 as the Leewards knocked off the victory target of 206 in the 45th overs.
