Centuries for Ganga, Chanderpaul

West Indies batsmen Daren Ganga and Shivnarine Chanderpaul helped themselves to centuries to push the visiting side to 404 for five declared against Zimbabwe A at Harare.

Ganga stroked 21 boundaries in a knock of 110 that virtually assures him of a place in the line-up for the first Test on November 4. Chanderpaul was even more devastating, slamming a quickfire 102 (22x4, 1x6, 104 balls) before retiring.

The domination by Ganga and Chanderpaul followed an uncertain start by the tourists, who lost Wavell Hinds (5), Chris Gayle (25) and stand-in captain Ramnaresh Sarwan (17) in the pre-Lunch session.

Marlon Samuels also got into the act in the later stages, smacking 11 fours and 2 sixes in a knock of 66 while wicket-keeper Ridley Jacobs hit 55 with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

At the close, Zimbabwe 'A' reached 31 without loss.
