Another Chance for Ryan Hinds

Left-handed Barbados all-rounder Ryan Hinds is getting another shot with the West Indies team.

The 22-year-old Hinds, who appeared in 4 Tests for the West Indies before losing his place after a horrid tour of India, has been identified as the replacement for the injured Omari Banks.

Sources say Hinds will fly out to South Africa immediately to join the injury-riddled squad but it's unlikely he will arrive in time for the first Test which begins in Johannesburg on Friday.

Hinds, a standout youth player, cracked into the West Indies side and showed positive flashes against Pakistan in Sharjah but he lost form in India and was discarded.

He was selected as a last-minute replacement for Marlon Samuels at the World Cup earlier this year but after the controversial circumstances that saw Samuels reinstated in the squad, Hinds was withdrawn and it has been downhill ever since.

Hinds' struggles continued in the regional competitions, culminating with him losing the vice-captaincy of the Barbados side towards the end of the recent Red Stripe Bowl.
