WICB Admits Error; Chanders In

There's something not quite right with the folks at the WICB secretariat in Antigua.

An hour after releasing a 15-man ODI squad without Shiv Chanderpaul's name, WICB cricket operations officer Derrick Nicholas issued a revised announcement to say that the left-handed middle order batsman was actually in the team.

"Please note that Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been selected to the West Indies ODI squad to face South Africa and NOT Carlton Baugh Jr. as previously advised," Nicholas said. 

It is not the first time simple announcements from the WICB have been badly handled and Nicholas has been at the centre of the unprofessionalism.

Nicholas, who was hired to handle local cricket operations when Michael Hall resigned, has in the past sent out announcements with incorrect information and typographical errors. He has also been guilty of exposing the entire WICB mailing list in his announcements, which is considered a major privacy screw-up.
