One-Day Wins for Guyana, Jamaica

Led by spin twins Mahendra Nagamootoo and Neil McGarrell and a half century from West Indies 'A' batsman Narsingh Deonarine, Defending champions Guyana beat the Windward Islands by 35 runs at Hampton Court.

Guyana batted first and struggled to 172 all out from 47.1 overs with Deonarine's 63 being the mainstay. In reply, the Windwards were bowled out for 137 from 46.2 overs.

JAMAICA BEATS LEEWARDS

Jamaica bounced back from the opening match loss to record a 20-run triumph over the Leeward Islands at Uitvlugt.

Jamaica batted first and racked up 245 for nine from 50 overs with Xavier Marshall (64) and West Indies batsman Wavell Hinds (58) leading the way.

Troubled Leewards batsman Runako Morton score the tournament's first century, an unbeaten 101, but it was not enough. Omari Banks chipped in with 61.
