Imran Jan Fined, Reinstated
Trinidad & Tobago all-rounder Imran Jan has been reinstated to the national squad in training for the 2005 Carib Beer Cup Series.
Jan, who was dropped from the 31-man squad for refusing to comply with directives from the tour selection panel, has been fined his match fee for one game and has agreed to apologise to his teammates and the Trinidad cricket authorities.
Jan, who was instrumental in Trinidad & Tobago /a> this year's unsponsored one-day competition, has also agreed to attend counseling sessions organized by the West Indies Players' Association (WIPA).
Jan's reinstatement follows a meeting between WIPA president Dinanath Ramnarine, officials from the TTCBC and the national selection panel. Trinidad & Tobago captain Daren Ganga also attended and expressed support for Jan.
At the meeting, WIPA also gave its full support to the T&TCB and the tour management committee regarding its position on discipline at all levels of the game.
