Taylor Stars as Wickets Tumble

A sensational five-wicket haul by 20-year-old Jerome Taylor gave Jamaica the advantage on the second day of their first round match against the Leewards at Kaiser.

Taylor, who was sidelined with a back injury for most of last year, grabbed 5-22 as the Leewards slid to 150 all out in response to Jamaica's 188. At the close, Jamaica struggled to 39 for three.

Left-arm spinner Nikita Miller took 4-48 for Jamaica.

For the Leewards, Runako Morton stroked four boundaries and a six in a top score of 50. Skipper Sylvester Joseph chipped in with 35 but no other batsman could come to grips with the hostility of Taylor.

The right-arm pacer was particularly devastating in a post-Lunch spell when he grabbed four wickets for five runs.
