WICB Coaching Manager Quits

West Indies coaching manager Darren Holder has suddenly resigned the post, just days after returning belatedly from vacation in his native Australia.

Holder's resignation is effective immediately. He is scheduled to return to Australia to deal with what is being described as "a recent significant change in the circumstances surrounding his personal life."

Holder expressed "grave disappointment" at having to leave the post but said "there are things in life that are more important than cricket as the present situation at home has clearly demonstrated to me."

The WICB has also accepted the resignation of Marita Laurent, management associate of its e-commerce operations.

Laurent, who partnered with Patricia Pitt to maintain the WICB Web site, is said to be heading to Jamaica to work for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 company.
