Gayle Lands Worcestershire County Deal
West Indies opener Chris Gayle has inked a deal to play for Worcestershire for the remainder of the English County season.
The Jamaican left-hander will replace Zander de Bruyn who leaves to join the South Africa 'A' team. Gayle will make his debut in a one-day game against Lancashire on August 24.
"Chris will arrive in time for the County?s televised totesport League game against Lancashire Lightning on Wednesday 24th August and will be available for the final five totesport League games and four Frizzell Championship matches," the club said in a statement.
Gayle becomes the second member of the current West Indies set-up to hit the County circuit. Guyanese right-hander Ramnaresh Sarwan is currently playing for Gloucestershire.
