WICB Spokesman Quits

The West Indies Cricket Board's (WICB) official spokesman has quit the post after only 17 months on the job.

Leonard Robertson, a Trinidad & Tobago national who left CARICOM to join the WICB as corporate communications manager last April, will leave the board's Antigua-based secretariat on September 30.

He cited "family commitments" as the reason for his departure.

"I am very disappointed that I am unable to continue with what has been a challenging assignment particularly as I have been part of a team of people who all have the deepest commitment to West Indies cricket and moving it forward in a professional manner. However, there are some things which take precedence in life and family is one of them," Robertson said.

The WICB has posted an advertisement in the regional media for Robertson's replacement.
