Ramnarine Re-elected WIPA President

Dinanath Ramnarine has been re-elected to serve a second two-year term as president of the West Indies Players' Association (WIPA). He was returned unopposed.

For the 30-year-old Trinidadian, the re-election serves as a major thumbs-up from the regional cricketers at a time when WIPA is locked in another bitter round of negotiations with the WICB over retainer contracts.

At the WIPA annual general meeting on Saturday morning, the players also returned Wavell Hinds to serve as vice president.

Former West Indies captain Jimmy Adams was elected secretary while Ian Bradshaw will assume the post of treasurer.

Daren Ganga is the new assistant secretary and Sylvester Joseph was elected to the post of regional coordinator.
