Sarwan, Bradshaw Climb ODI Rankings

Ramnaresh Sarwan's man-of-the-series performance in the recent ODIs against India has pushed him up to second place in LG ICC Player Rankings for ODI batsmen.

Sarwan, who only entered the top 10 earlier this month after a series of excellent displays against Zimbabwe, is now breathing down the neck of leader Adam Gilchrist at the top of the batting list.

In the five-match series agianst India, Sarwan scored 273 runs, including one hundred and two fifties.

Below him, Chris Gayle is up three places to 11th position while Dwayne Bravo, who made successive half-centuries in the last two matches of the series, rises 30 places to 74th.

Ian Bradshaw climbs into the bowling top 10 for the first time, up nine places to eighth spot, and he is the first West Indies bowler to reach that top 10 since Reon King five years ago.

And Bradshaw is not the only bowler on the rise among his team. Gayle is up eight spots to 30th, Fidel Edwards climbs 17 places to 42nd, Marlon Samuels is up 24 places to 64th and Jerome Taylor has climbed 10 spots to 81st position.

Gayle is also on the way up in the LG ICC Player Rankings for all-rounders, up two places to third.

The West Indies has not been able to improve on its eighth position in the LG ICC ODI Championship table but Brian Lara's side has gained seven rating points because of the 4-1 series win.

It means the West Indies are now just five points behind seventh-placed England in the table.
