Samuels Cleared for Tri-Series

West Indies middle order batsman Marlon Samuels has passed a fitness test, clearing the way for the right-hander to play in the upcoming Tri-Series in Malaysia.

Samuels was tested by West Indies strength and conditioning coordinator Bryce Cavanagh after he injured his right knee in July during the Stanford 20/20 Tournament. The test was done at the Antigua Recreation Ground and was observed by head coach Bennett King.

The 14 man squad is scheduled to depart the Caribbean tomorrow, September 6th and arrive in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 8th to take on Australia and India in the tournament ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy in India.
