Gayle: We Have Unfinished Business

In-form West Indies opener Chris Gayle says the regional side has "unfinished business" to take care of in the final of ICC Champions Trophy against Australia.

The left-hander, who has scored back-to-back centuries in the tournament, spoke with the media after his sizzling unbeaten hundred against South Africa in Jaipur. Following are excerpts of his responses:

The plan was not to lose early wickets, that we did pretty well out there today. I thought it was a good wicket to bat on. Shiv (Chanderpaul) batted well. Basically I just played my normal game, to go out there and enjoy it the same.

On whether it was a deliberate plan to attack the bowlers:

The South Africa captain always stressed that their bowlers are their key for this tournament and the key bowlers didn't get any wickets early today and that set them back a bit and worked to our advantage as well. We just stuck to our basic plans. There is a bit of pressure here and there at times but once you get over it things become easy.

On Shiv Chanderpaul:

Shiv is a guy that can outscore me at any time. He's an experienced player and I enjoy batting with him. If I am on the go, Shiv tends to give me the strike and rotate the strike. He is a tremendous player, all around the wicket and whenever he is ready to step it up he can step it up.

Shiv can destroy any bowling attack whenever he is ready. He's very dangerous.

On whether the Windies has 'unfinished business' with Australia:

We have unfinished business definitely. We beat them twice but they won on the big occasion in the final (of the DLF Cup in Malaysia). This is another final for us to go out there and try and pull this one off. This is even a bigger tournament so it would be nice to come out on top of the Aussies, it?s going to be competitive and it?s going to be tough.
