Carib Beer Roundup: Round 2, Day 1

The second round of the regional first class tournament started today, with Barbados mounting a lower order fightback against the Leeward Islands, who had the Barbadians pinned down at 37 for 3 and then again at 150 for 5. Captain Ryan Hinds led his team with his knock of 82 to see Barbados eventually close the day's day at 250 for 9.

At Beausejour in St Lucia, Jamaica squandered a 171 run opening partnership by Brenton Parchment and Danza Hyatt to be 231 for 6 at stumps in their match against the Windward Islands. Missed chances and sloppy batting were the order of the day before the Windwards began applying pressure to Jamaica, and as the end of play approached Carlton Baugh and Nikita Miller had closed up the shop for the day.

Rain featured in Trinidad today, preventing any play between the hosts and Guyana.
