West Indies WC Squad Named

After much speculation the West Indies Cricket Board has finally announced the West Indies squad for the upcoming World Cup.

Newcomer Kieron Pollard is rewarded for a promising first season in the domestic tournaments with a berth ahead of some better known names. The full squad is:

Brian Lara (captain), Ian Bradshaw, Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Corey Collymore, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Marlon Samuels, Ramnaresh Sarwan (vice captain), Lendl Simmons, Devon Smith, Dwayne Smith, Jerome Taylor.

Reserves: Fidel Edwards, Sylvester Joseph, Dave Mohammed, Runako Morton, Darren Sammy.
