• West Indies have the second best all-time win ratio – 65.95% of matches have been won – only Australia has been more successful.
• West Indies is the only side in CWC history to be defeated off the last ball of a game (v Pakistan, 1987).
• The 360-4, which they recorded against Sri Lanka, in 1987 is the 3rd highest CWC score of all time. Viv Richards, in this match, became the oldest batsman (35 years, 220 days) to score a century (181*). His 181 is the third highest individual score of all time.
• Viv Richards is the 4th highest CWC run scorer of all time (1013 runs) – Brian Lara needs a further 44 to join this exclusive club.
• Clive Lloyd was the first batsman to score a century in the CWC final (101 in 1975). Viv Richards (138* in 1979), Aravinda de Silva (107* in 1996) and Ricky Ponting (140* in 2003) are the other batsmen to score centuries in a CWC final.
• The West Indies hold two CWC partnership records – ironically they lost both the games in which these were achieved.
• Winston Davis holds the best bowling figures on CWC debut. He took 7-51 against Australia at Leeds in 1983.
• West Indies loss to Kenya in the 1996 CWC is considered as one of the most surprising defeats in the history of the game. West Indies were bowled out for 93 while chasing 166.

• Pakistan has a win record of 56.86% in CWC matches – 6 th best in the overall rankings.
• Pakistan's 192-run win over Sri Lanka at Nottingham in 1975 is the 4th biggest CWC win of all time.
• Pakistan has only passed 300 in CWC matches on two occasions – both against Sri Lanka in 1975 and 1983 (off 60 overs). Their highest score in 50 overs is also against the Sri Lankans.
• Pakistan has only once failed to pass 100 (74 vs England in Adelaide in 1992). Their second lowest total (132 v Australia at Lord's in 1999) came in the CWC Final.
• The 194-run stand between Wajahatullah Wasti and Saeed Anwar against New Zealand at Manchester in 1999 is a first wicket record partnership for the CWC.
• Wasim Akram has played more CWC matches than any other player (38) while Javed Miandad played in a record six World Cups (1975 – 1996). Javed Miandad is the second highest run scorer (1083) in CWC history. Inzaman-Ul-Haq needs a further 347 runs to become the 2nd Pakistani to pass 1,000 CWC runs.
• Ijaz Ahmed, along with Nathan Astle, has most ducks in CWC history – 5.
• Moin Khan's 30 dismissals are the second highest in CWC history after Adam Gilchrist.
• Wasim Akram is the highest CWC wicket taker of all time with 55 wickets.

• The West Indies have won five of the seven matches played between the two teams at the CWC.
• Pakistan and the West Indies are the only teams to have been twice involved in one wicket victories. West Indies won in 1975 while Pakistan was victorious in 1987.
• The West Indies have beaten Pakistan in both their previous ODI matches in Jamaica . Almost 19 years to the day, West Indies beat Pakistan by 47 runs, thanks to 109* from Gus Logie. The West Indies won their second clash by four wickets, with Brian Lara scoring 114.
• Their 221-0, against Pakistan in their opening group game of the 1992 CWC, is the highest score by a team who have won by 10 wickets (although Brian Lara did retire hurt on 88*).
